Pearl E Choate, 91, of Sublimity passed Christmas morning 2012. She was born October 26, 1921 in Elk City, Oklahoma as the youngest of nine children. In 1940 she and her family moved to Oceanside California where she soon met and married Vernon Choate.  While living in Oceanside Vernon joined the Army Air Corp and was soon deployed. At that time Pearl started her career as a beautician. Pearl and her family moved to Stayton in 1949. Pearl had many hobbies; Bowling, Golfing, Painting, playing cards with friends and an avid volunteer with Stayton Senior Meals for 20 years. She was a member of the local bowling association for 25 years and served on the state board of directors for 15 years. She was inducted into the state of Oregon Hall of Fame in 1999. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, seven siblings and grandson Richard Bunt. She is survived by her sons Allen and Neil(Anita), daughter Donna(Jerry). Her brother Ray Whitley. Seven Grandchildren, Ten Great-Grandchildren with two more on the way.  Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 30, 2012  12:00 noon, at Weddle Funeral Chapel. Private Family Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
