Paula Lewin, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Lyons, Oregon on September 14, 2023. Born on September 4, 1934, in Brownsville, Oregon, to Ruth Emma Evans and Paul Alvin Tibbetts, Paula lived a life filled with love, hard work, and a passion for learning.


Paula was a woman of many talents and interests. She spent the majority of her life in the McCully Mountain area of Lyons, where she lived for 40 years. She also lived in Battleground, Washington, and California, leaving a trail of cherished memories and lasting friendships in each place. Paula's professional life was as diverse as her personal interests. She worked in the engineering department at Tektronics, spent time as a field worker, and was a dedicated farmer. Her love for animals and the outdoors led her to become a horse ranch owner and operator, a role she cherished and excelled in.


Paula had a deep love for children and animals, a trait that was evident in her everyday life. She had a green thumb and a passion for growing plants. Her garden was a testament to her patience, care, and dedication. Paula also had a love for cooking and farming, hobbies that she pursued with enthusiasm and joy. In her later years, she found a new hobby in selling books online. This endeavor was not just a pastime for Paula, but a way for her to continue learning and engaging with the world.


Paula was preceded in death by her lifelong best friend, Sharon Garner, who was a constant presence in her life. Their friendship was a testament to Paula's loyalty, kindness, and capacity for love. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Lewin, and her parents.


She is survived by her children, Little Paula, Genie, Terry, Tony; grandchildren, Teresa, Elizabeth, Jamye, Missy, Mariah, Shay, Rose, Elizabeth, Mercedes, Sierra, Mereesa, Matthew and Jazen in addition to several extended family members and friends.


Paula Lewin was a woman of substance, a woman who lived her life with passion and purpose. She was a beacon of love, strength, and resilience, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Paula's life was a testament to the power of love, the value of hard work, and the importance of lifelong learning. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives of those she touched.
