PAUL F. LOHSE Jan. 13, 1928 – May 7, 2012 Aumsville, Oregon Resident Paul F. Lohse, the “Kansas Kid”, 84, passed away on May 7th at Salem from prostate cancer. He was born in Washington County, Kansas. The son of Henry and Lizzy Lohse. Paul was the youngest of 9 children. He moved to Aumsville in 1935 and on Nov. 28, 1950 was married to Anna Mae Nichol. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Paul loved music and having started playing music at the age of 16 he played in every dance hall and grange he could. He spent many years playing at the VFW and Eagles lodge #2081 where he was a member. He played the guitar and was the lead singer with the 4 + 1 Orchestra along with his sons, Allen and Carl. He was an avid poet and wrote several books of poetry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and the great outdoors where he worked on his property. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings and his wife, Anna in 1986. He retired after working for the clinics and State Hospital for 30 yrs. The family is grateful to the Salem Oncology and Hematology, and 5th floor nursing staff at Salem Hospital for all the care and support he and his family were given. Paul is survived by his sons, Allen (Dianne) Lohse of Aumsville, Carl (Carol) Lohse of Stayton; daughter in law, Sharon Lohse of Keizer; grandchildren, Lisa ( Mark) Lohse-Miranda and Brandon Lohse; and great grandson, Dylan Lohse-Miranda. Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. May 19th at 11:00 am at the Weddle Funeral Chapel. Private interment will be at the Aumsville Cemetery, Aumsville.
