Patricia Jean Almond was born on May 11, 1940, in Longview, Washington to James and Frances (Van) Almond. She grew up with her four other siblings, Hazel, Joanne, Judy and Staci. She would live in Vader, Washington until 1948 and her family would move to Roseburg, Oregon. While in high school Patricia would participate in baton twirling as a high school majorette at their football games. She would graduate from Roseburg High School in 1958. She would meet her future husband and love of her life, John “Ed” Edmund Fowler and they would marry on September 6, 1958, in Vancouver, Washington. They were blessed with two children Steve and Susan. They would live in Roseburg until 1963. They would move to Albany and live there until 1971. In 1971 they moved to Newberg, Oregon and would become franchise owners of Arctic Circle in Newberg for 24 years until selling in 1995 and retiring. Patricia would move to Sublimity, Oregon in 2017 the same year Ed passed away. When not a busy mom or business owner, Patricia would fill her time with many different hobbies and interests. She was known for her amazing baking and pie making skills and her tactfulness at DIY projects. She would paint, make flowerpots, and would find crafting ideas off of Facebook. Patricia also enjoyed camping in Belknap Hot Springs along the McKenzie River. She had a huge heart for animals and got much enjoyment from dressing up her faithful companion Sophie. After a brief illness, Patricia passed away on February 13, 2022, in Sublimity, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Fowler, 3 sisters and her parents. Patricia is survived by her children, Steve Fowler and Susan Kastel; grandchildren, Jordan Kastel, Madison Kastel, and a great grandchild, Rowen Kastel
