Oregon Stayton

Stayton, Oregon Alice Marie Morrison, age 87, died of natural causes on October 7, 2011 at Santiam Memorial Hospital in Stayton, OR. Alice Marie was born March 15, 1924 to Richard Grant and Marjorie Olive Warthen in Portland, Oregon.  She married Howard Foster Morrison on October 10, 1942 in Eugene, Oregon.  They lived in the Eugene area until they moved to the North Santiam Canyon, finally settling in Mill City, Oregon in the early 50s.  They moved to Aumsville in 1977 and lived there until she moved to Stayton in 2009. Alice worked for many years as a janitor for Young & Morgan in Mill City.  She also served as bookkeeper for Westwood Products in Salem.  She was very active in the Mill City Eagles Aerie # 3384 for 38 years, was the Auxiliary Secretary for 21 years, and was a past Madam President.  She loved to crochet and in her earlier years she decorated cakes, including wedding cakes. She is survived by her son Ronald J. Morrison of Aumsville; daughter Lucille Diane Morrison of Salem; brother Richard Warthen of Marysville, WA; sisters Verna Ketchum of Stayton; Geneva Sproat of Redmond; grandsons Mikel Morrison of Aumsville; Jackie Morrison of Jefferson; Christopher Vaughn of Aberdeen, WA; granddaughters Heather Vaughn of Moses Lake, WA; Mary Vaughn of Aumsville; 2 great grandchildren Eliza and Ethan Morrison of Salem; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years Howard Foster Morrison; sons Howard Eddy and Ernest Grant Morrison; grandson Ronald H. Morrison and brother Ivan Warthen of Springfield OR. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Weddles Funeral Home, 1777 North 3rd, Stayton, OR with reception following.  A private Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memory Gardens, Salem, OR on a later date.
