Mehama, Oregon Violet Wagner, 96, passed away on Monday, February 22 at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, OR. She was born on April 26, 1913 in Vancouver, WA. She spent much of her youth living on the coast in Oregon and nearly 60 years of her adult life on the farm she shared with her husband in Mehama, OR. She was a petite, yet strong woman who always found something to be joyful about in life. She loved people, had a youthful attitude and was on the go until the age of 95. In retirement, she volunteered with Catholic Daughters and enjoyed reading, knitting and time with her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sara and Jerry Frank of Portland, OR, 8 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grand children. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Wagner, two of her three children, William “Bill” Turnidge and Joan Stouder and one of her grandchildren, Doug Turnidge. A rosary will be said at Weddle’s Funeral Chapel in Stayton, OR at 7 pm on Monday, March 1. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Stayton, OR at 11 am on Tuesday, March 2 followed by graveside services. Lunch and celebration of her life will follow at Anthony Hall in Sublimity, OR.
