Novella C. Yeley

NOVELLA  C.  YELEY May 14, 1936 – Sept. 18, 2010 Novella C. Yeley was born at LaJunta, Colorado on the 14th day of May, 1936.  The daughter of Roy and LaFern Carr.  She passed away on Saturday the 18th at her home in Stayton.  She was 74. Novella attended high school in Colorado and moved to California where she completed high school.  She was married to Jesse Ray Yeley on Dec. 16, 1961 in Reno, Nevada and moved to Marion, Oregon in 1970 from Concord, California.  They moved to Scio in 1974 where they built their home and lived for 36 years.    She had worked 18 yrs. in civil service before retiring.  Novella and Jesse enjoyed traveling to Yuma every year and made many friends.  She enjoyed oil painting, crafts and attending her weekly greeting card club with friends. Jesse preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2004.  She moved to Stayton in 2005. She is survived by her sister, Wyveta (Scotty) Burke of Ft. Worth, Texas; nieces, nephews & great nieces and nephews; and cousin , Wilma (Stan) Martin of Porterville, CA. Celebration of Life  will be held Thurs. Sept. 23rd at 2:00 pm at Weddle Funeral Chapel , followed by vault interment next to her husband at Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton, OR Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services.
