NOVA MAJORS May 20, 1926 – Dec. 12, 2010 Aumsville, Oregon Nova Majors was born at Independence, Arkansas on the 20th day of May, 1926. She passed away on Sunday the 12th at her home in Aumsville. She was 84. The daughter of Ernest and Betty Palmer. Nova grew up in Arkansas and was married to R. G. Majors on Aug. 31, 1940 in Pfeiffer, Arkansas. They moved to Oregon in 1957 having lived in the Corvallis area before moving to the Stayton/Aumsville area in the 1960’s. R. G. preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1990. She was a longtime member of the Church of God in Turner and enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She is survived by her sons; Calvin Majors of McMinnville, Robert (Elaine) Majors of Turner, Claudie (Linda) Majors of Gervais, Richard Majors of Salem & Larry (Cheryl ) Majors of Turner; daughters, Lola (Bolt) Minister & Melba (Steve) Alexander both of Washington, Rebecca (Bill ) Thrash of Salem; brother, Jodie Palmer of Arkansas; half-brothers; Alvin, Elton, Emmett, & Terry Palmer all of Arkansas; sisters; Ernestine Carter, Merle Coles, half-sisters; Helen Miller, Magalene VanWinkle, Marie Treece, Barbara Beard & Josie Palmer all of Arkansas; 30 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her great grandson Dallin Clayton; brother, Archie Palmer and daughters-in-law; Ruth Majors & Vonda Majors. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Turner Church of God, 7944 Marion Road, Turner, OR Memorials may be made to the Church of God in Turner.
