Nellie Mae McCollister 4/3/1927 - 5/27/2018 Nellie was born in Elk Point, SD, was married to Warmer McCollister of Canton, Missouri 5/31/1948. Nellie and Warner traveled to Oregon on their honeymoon and found a farm in Sublimity that same year, made the purchase and began their life together. Nellie’s hobbies of course were farming and raising livestock, growing hay, selling eggs. She was a member of Cascade Foothill Squares dancing club, was on a bowling team in Stayton and of course playing cards at the Stayton Senior Center and occasionally at home, anytime she could get a group together. She is survived by her children, Kathy Scheibe of Custer South Dakota, Carol Binkley of Salem Oregon, Timothy McCollister of Sublimity, Oregon and Jill Ziebert of Scio, Oregon, her brother Bob Hartwig of Canton Missouri, as well as 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Iva Hartwig of Canton, MO, her husband Warner McCollister of Sublimity, OR, her twin daughters, Julie and Jeanette, her 5 sisters and 2 brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Senior Center of Stayton, OR or to Serenity Hospice of Salem, OR.
