Neil S. Farpella

Neil Stewart Farpella was born on July 25, 1938 in Imperial Valley, California to Joseph and Mary (Hampton) Farpella, he was one of 12 siblings, he is survived by 3 Dorothy, Robert and Melanie. Neil passed away on July 23, 2018 in Keizer, Oregon, just a few days shy of his 80th birthday. Neil resided in California his first 58 years where he went to Sweet Water High School until mid 1950. After California he moved to Tennessee for 7 years, then Nevada for 10 years, and finally Oregon the last 3 years. For most of his life he was a truck driver. Neil was married three times, the first union resulted in 3 children and his second union in 4 additional children: His son Michael wrote this Tribute: “He was a great father and he had high expectations of his children. He raised us when he didn’t have to. He made sure we all had a roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, and clothes to wear. He taught us how to work harder than others, how to provide for our family’s, whipped our asses when we needed it and loved us because he cared. I had so much fun with him as I learned about life and how to raise another man’s child as your own. He never took a back seat in that department he was always #1. Don’t be sad for him be happy; right now the Little Giant is driving down the highway in some piece of shit cab over hauling another OD load, going faster than he’s supposed to, dodging a set of scales, looking for a place to get a cup of coffee. Looking forward to the day he and I can do it together one more time. I love you and miss you Little Giant, Fender Bender out.” Neil was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings, 2 grandsons and 1 great grandson. He is survived by his children Debra Brown of Salem, OR, Cynthia Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Susan Rigg of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Delozier of Lakeside, CA, Kenneth Delozier of San Diego, CA, Richard Delozier of Coronado, CA, Robert Delozier of San Diego, CA; siblings, Dorothy Fortner of San Diego, CA, Robert Farpella of VA, Melanie Hughes of Santee, CA; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.
