Nancy Carol Stewart

Nancy Carol Nagy Matter Stewart, born on September 29, 1936, in Syracuse, New York, to Francis Nagy and Grace Edmonds, lived a life filled with accomplishments, adventure, and love.

Nancy excelled academically, graduating high school as valedictorian, and went on to become a legal secretary, a career in which she demonstrated her intelligence and dedication. Her life took her to various parts of the country, including San Antonio, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Boston, Massachusetts; Las Vegas, Nevada; and finally, Salem, Oregon.

An avid reader and lover of nature, Nancy found joy in exploring the outdoors and traveling to new places. Her curiosity and passion for learning were constants throughout her life.

Nancy is survived by her children, Lisa Ann Wainscott and Nichetta Marie Matter; her grandchildren, Andre Francis Matter and Natalie Mia Wainscott; and her great-grandchild, Levi Evander Walker. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Nagy.

Memorial contributions in Nancy's memory can be made to Court Street Christian Church in Salem.
