Miguel Gonzalo Candelaria January 24, 1939 September 5, 2015 Mill City, Oregon Miguel was born in Arabella, New Mexico to Valoris and Vendranda Candelaria. He graduated from Morencia, Arizona high school in 1957. After high school, Miguel served almost 5 years in the Army, during which time he worked at the Pentagon, guarded the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and earned a metal for marksmanship. He married Gayle Fetterhoff on August 6, 1964 and together they raised three children. They were well traveled, even choosing a trip to Canada, Oregon, Arizona, and Mexico instead of attending his college graduation after he earned an associate degree in forestry at Chemeketa Community College in 1972. Miguel retired from North Santiam Plywood Mill in Mill City. He enjoyed wood working and making wooden toys. Miguel was a good husband, father, and provider, and an all-around good man. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle, and brother Abe. Miguel is survived by his wife Gayle; children, Sandra, Rebecca, Reba, Mike and Tammee; siblings, Abe, Tommy, Balois, Amelia, Joe, and Erenesto; grandchildren, Sophia, Julius, Elsa, Zussette, Alexander, Gabriela, and Felix; and great-grandchildren, Porter, Penelope, Isaiah, Noah, Charlie, Nixon, Easton, and Tucker. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 11 at 6:00 p.m. at 49050 SE Fairview St in Mill City. Military Honors by US Army Honor Guard. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services.
