Michael Richard Neufeld, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023, in Philomath, Oregon. Born on September 13, 1953, in Reedley, California, Michael was a wise, handy, and creative man who cherished his family and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Richard Neufeld, mother, Darlene Gilchriest, and brother, Tim Neufeld. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Neufeld, to whom he was married for more than 26 years; his children, Kella Page, Allen Neufeld, and Johnathan Neufeld; his grandchildren, Garrit Arneson and Aurora Neufeld; and his siblings, Pam Fodness, Dana Walsh, Jenny Grady, Natalie, Shelley Santana, and Michelle Maydea.
Michael received his GED from Linn Benton Community College and went on to work as a fabricator at USNR for 15 years. Despite his professional accomplishments, Michael considered his greatest achievements to be his family. He met Brenda Lovett on March 9, 1988, and they married on October 13, 1996, creating a loving and supportive home for their children and grandchildren.
An avid outdoorsman, Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing, often sharing these passions with his loved ones. He also had a keen interest in building car models, watching NASCAR and football, following NHRA, and playing poker with friends and family. His wisdom, resourcefulness, and creativity were evident in all aspects of his life, from his work to his hobbies.
Michael's memory will be cherished by his family, who remember him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His siblings recall a caring and supportive brother, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom. His friends will remember Michael's warmth, humor, and camaraderie, as well as his unwavering loyalty and compassion.
In honor of Michael's love for the outdoors, a celebration of his life will be held in the natural beauty of Philomath, Oregon. The Neufeld family invites all who knew and loved Michael to attend and share their memories of this remarkable man. They ask that attendees wear casual attire, reflecting Michael's laid-back and welcoming spirit.
