Michael Lee Hanson, a kind and handy man who brought joy and warmth to those around him, passed away on April 24, 2023, in Corvallis, Oregon. Born on May 5, 1959, in Wakefield Michigan, Michael was the loving son of James Hanson and Patsy Freeman.
Throughout his life, Michael's dedication to his family remained unwavering. He married the love of his life, Judy Gale, who sadly preceded him in death. Together, they raised a beautiful family and created a lifetime of cherished memories. Michael was a proud and loving grandfather to Chelsea and Chance, who brought immense joy to his life. He was also a devoted brother to his eight siblings, Jim, Kenneth, David, Janie, Pam, Tim, Patty, and Terry, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond.
Michael was a hardworking and driven individual. Despite facing educational challenges, he earned his GED diploma, demonstrating his resilience and determination. He built a successful career in the construction industry, where his natural talents and skills shone through. Michael's dedication to his work and his ability to connect with others made him a valuable and respected member of his community.
Throughout his life, Michael called both Wisconsin and Oregon home. He lived in Oregon for many years with his beloved wife, Judy, until her untimely passing in 2007. Grieving the loss of his partner, Michael returned to Wisconsin for a few years, seeking solace in the familiarity of his childhood home. However, the Pacific Northwest's beauty and serenity eventually drew him back to Oregon, where he spent his final days surrounded by the stunning landscape that he loved.
In his free time, Michael enjoyed the great outdoors, often going camping with friends and family. These trips were an opportunity for him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with those he held dear. Michael's love for adventure and his easy going nature made him a joy to be around, and he will be remembered fondly by those who shared these experiences with him.
Michael's kind and generous spirit touched the lives of many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and his natural handiness made him the go-to person for any repair or maintenance tasks. His friends and family will remember him as a resourceful and reliable man, someone they could always count on in times of need.
