Michael Dan Carroll Jr. was born on September 7, 1978, in Oceanside California to Michael Dan Carroll Sr. and Francette Venia. After his mother passed away, he was raised by his aunt Dawn and her husband Kaywood. He would grow up in Southern California and then later on move to the Willamette Valley and Mill City area.
After high school Michael would graduate from the California Conservation Corps in San Bernardino and would later even receive awards from the California Conservation Corps for firefighting. He would go on to work in the construction industry and as a roofer.
Michael was a mountain man. He loved hunting and fishing and loved to grow his own food and conserved the land. He enjoyed mining for gold and wanted to have a piece of land and raise animals. He had a passion for cars, trucks, and motorcycles and always worked on them. Michael loved and cherished his family. His cousins Sarah and Kyle were raised as siblings and his best friend Brian was a brother to him. He was challenged in his life’s choices made but he never stopped for one day thinking about his children. His heart was full of the love for his kids and talked about them all the time. He absolutely loved the music of the mountain folk and he was a loyal and loving man. Michael was devoted to his country and stood up for the American way of life.
On July 16, 2022, Michael passed away in Lyons Oregon. He was preceded in passing by his mother, Franchette; grandmother, Christine Louise Nixon; grandfather, Francis Venia Jr.; and grandfather, Daniel Ray Carroll. He is survived by his children, Abby, Gunner, Jacob, and Kayden, ; wife, Jennifer; father, Michael Senior; aunt Dawn; grandmother, Mary Gilmore; and siblings, Kaven, Erica, and Jewel.
