Melvin Graham Nichol

July 5, 1924 January 28, 2012 Melvin was born in Springfield, Oregon to Walter and Anna Nichols.  He graduated from Aumsville High School and attended college at Linfield.  In 1942 he married Dorothy Dalke in Dallas, Oregon.   He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1943 to 1945 as a Sergeant for the Army Engineers.   His civilian career saw him working as a General Contractor and Bus Owner.   He and Dorothy are members of First Baptist Church, Salem.   He will be greatly missed by Dorothy, his wife of 70 years, daughter;Judith Cameron, sons; Gerald T. Nichol, Robert Nichol, Paul S. Nichol, siblings; Gene Nichol, Glen Nichol, Pat Greenwalt, Jim Collins.  He was preceded in death by siblings, Walter, Theodore, Anna Mae Lohse, and Shirley Nichol. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM  First Baptist Church, Salem. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
