Megan Jane Alfaro, born on February 26, 1993, in Pomona, California, passed away much too soon on July 2, 2024, in Corvallis, Oregon. A loving mother, daughter, and sister, Megan's spirit and love for life touched everyone she knew. Born to Todd Strickland and Carrie Alfaro, Megan was a wonderful sister to, Brittney, Kaylee, Jade and Seth.
Megan was a dedicated stay-at-home mom to her beloved daughter, Arya who she shared with her partner, Brian Little. Arya was the biggest blessing in her life. Megan was also a dog mom to Jables who gave her much companionship. She balanced her role as a mother with her pursuit of knowledge, attending online classes at Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) with many hopes and dreams for the future.
A free spirit, Megan was full of life and always eager for the next adventure. Her passions were as diverse as they were numerous. An artist at heart, she found joy in painting and drawing. Her love for the natural world was evident in her hobbies of rock hunting and nature foraging. Megan's interest in the cosmos was reflected in her fascination with astronomy and astrology. She also enjoyed making wine and was known for her love of bubbles. She was also a compassionate person who loved animals and always wanted to help others, Megan became an organ donor, a final act of generosity that saved and improved the lives of many.
She was preceded in passing by her beloved companion, Turkey. Megan is survived by her daughter, Arya; partner, Brian Little; her mother, Carrie Alfaro and stepfather, Jason Gaylord; her father, Todd Strickland; siblings, Brittney Davis, Kayle Gaylord, Jade Alfaro, and Seth Gaylord. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, Madelene and Kendyll Vassar in addition to several extended family members and friends.
Megan's vibrant spirit and beautiful smile, love for her family, and passion for life will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm, on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Weddle Funeral Service. Come prepared to share memories, stories, enjoy food and fellowship. The services will be livestreamed and recorded.
