Maxine D. Heuschkel

MAXINE D. HEUSCHKEL Sublimity, Oregon Maxine D. Heuschkel was born at St. Maries, Idaho on May 27, 1924.  She passed away on Jan. 4, 2010 at Sublimity. Daughter of Martin and Minne Higdon. Maxine was married to Frank E. “Doc” Heuschkel on May 7, 1946 in Garberbille, CA.  Together they made a very adventurous couple having started several successful business ventures in California. In 1959 they moved to Madras, OR where they farmed and eventually became commercial hay contractors.  In 1968 they bought their first commercial fishing boat in Santa Barbara.  They then purchased 2 additional boats which operated in California and Oregon.  They both loved rock hunting dearly and divided their time between Arizona and Oregon.  “Doc” preceded her in death in May of 1991 and she then moved to Sublimity. She was a member of the Church of Christ and  loved gardening, water color painting and traveling, she was happiest on a plane headed anywhere. Survived by son, Rex Heuschkel, daughters, Catherine Koehler, Stevie Pointer, Vonel Bahner; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ, Stayton, OR There will be a private family Celebration of Life Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, Oregon.
