Mary Kostrikin was born on October 13, 1936 in Ensenada, Mexico to Julia Samarin and Alex Rudametkin. She passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Mary wed Vladimir Kostrikin on May 1, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. They were blessed with five children: David (wife Marybeth), Kathy, John (wife Sasana), Daniel (wife Leslie), and Walter. She was a proud grandmother to John Grigorieff, Anna Chase, Rachel Koch, Nicole Kostrikin, Elise Kostrikin, and Troy Pierson. Her joy was further multiplied by her great-grandchildren: Stella and Dane Koch, and Taylor and True Pierson.
Fluent in Russian, Spanish, and English, Mary attended high school in Los Angeles and was a member of the Reformed Molokan Church. She had a passion for her family and gardening, landscaping, cooking, sewing, needlework, and photography. These hobbies brought her immense joy and allowed her to share her love with those around her.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Vladimir, daughter Kathy Elshire, sister Josephina Pando, brothers George, Alex, and John Rudametkin, and Jose Torres. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication.
Mary's life was a testament to her strength, compassion, and enduring faith. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones. She will be deeply missed.
