Mary J. Olson

Mary J. Olson December 11, 1931 – January 9, 2011 Mary J. Olson was born at Peru, Kansas on the 11th of December, 1931 .  She passed away on   Sunday the 9th  at Sublimity after a long battle with lung cancer.  She was 79.  The daughter of Robert and Helen Phillips. Mary was raised in Kansas and having lived in Colorado and California before moving to Oregon where she lived most of her life in the Nehalem area.  She was married to Robert Olson in 1985 in LaFayette , he was the love of her life.  She was a  homemaker and mother  to 11 children.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting and playing the piano. She is survived by her daughters, Lois Wade of Vancouver, WA, Roberta Strozyk of Chugiak, Alaska, Val Keith of Morresville, SC, Fran Collins of Mill City, Katherine Boone of Eugene; sons, Mark, Chuck and Raymond  Boone all of Eugene, David Boone of Newport News, VA, Wayne Boone of Tacoma, WA; step children, Marlene Fowler of Winlock, WA, Barbara Fullman of Vancouver, WA,  Nanette   Chapman             of Canby; sister, Donna Donaldson of Appleton, WA; numerous grand and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel. Memorials may be made to Doernbechers Childrens Hospital – Portland, OR Services will be held Sat. Jan. 22nd at Sunset Heights Cemetery, Tillamook, OR.  Time of service is pending.
