January 9, 1932 August 22, 2014 Sublimity, Oregon Maroe Jeanne Brown was born in Marlette, Michigan on January 9, 1932 to Raymond and Belvia Johnson. She moved to Sublimity, Oregon as a young girl and attended school in Aumsville, Oregon. After High School she worked at the Boise Cascade paper mill in Salem. She married Jack Padrta and lived in Idaho until he passed away. She married Kenneth Brown of Sublimity Oregon on Feb. 27, 1978. After Kenneth passed away, Maroe continued living on the Brown homestead up near Silver Falls State Park until she moved to the Marian Estates in Sublimity. Maroe loved doing arts and crafts, fishing and traveling, especially to visit relatives back east. She will be remembered by many as a dedicated volunteer at the Nature Gift Shop at Silver Falls State Park where she enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. She was also a member of the Union Hill Womens Club. Maroe was predeceased by her parents, and five Johnson brothers: Neal, Hurley, Keene, Rexford (Rex) and Morris. Maroe is survived by several nephews and nieces some in Oregon and some in Michigan, Indiana and Nevada. Memorial contributions are suggested to Willamette Valley Hospice. Services are scheduled for Thursday, August 28th, at 1:00 p.m. at Weddle Funeral Services, Stayton, OR. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, Oregon.
