Marjorie June Hatch, 71

Marjorie June Hatch, 71 Born:  February 22, 1939 Died:  January 21, 2011 Marjorie June Hatch (Fowler) was born February 22, 1939 in Richmond, CA to Dwight and Bernice Fowler (Smith).  Her family moved to the Aumsville, West Stayton area during her elementary years where she attended West Stayton Elementary through the eighth grade.  She graduated from Cascade High School in 1957.  She graduated from beauty college and worked as a beautician for about ten years. She married Everett Willis Hatch on September 19, 1959.  They lived and made their home on the Hatch homestead along the North Santiam River west of Stayton.  She began her life there helping with the Hatch family farm, working as a beautician and raising children.  She was married to her husband for 38 years until she was widowed in 1997. When Everett, her husband, started Hatch Engine in 1969, she became the office manager and bookkeeper.  Even with those duties, she still had time to volunteer at her children’s schools, to teach children at the Awana and Vacation Bible School programs at Bethel Baptist Church, and to help with Good News Clubs in the area.  She loved children and had a heart for reaching out to them with her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. One hobby that she and her husband shared together was a love for flying.  Everett obtained his pilot’s license in 1972 and about ten years later, she had the privilege to obtain hers.  She was his co-pilot/navigator and their family shared many trips together.  Her other hobbies included reading, cross-stitching, and golf.  She spent the last five years of her life living in Salem.  She died at Salem Hospital on January 21, 2011. She was a wonderful woman of character and grace and her family will miss her.
