Marjorie Jackson went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2020 at the age of 92. Her passing was due to complications from surgery. Marjorie Ellen Slater was born in Sterling, Colorado on February 3, 1928. She was one of 9 kids. Marjorie graduated from Aumsville High School at the age of 16. In 1945 she met George Jackson in Stayton at a family gathering. Their love grew and they were married on December 26, 1945. Over the next 75 years of marriage, that love never faded. During that time, they had two sons, Jim and Wayne. Marjorie worked for the Department of Revenue for 27 years until she retired. During retirement, they traveled by fifth wheel all over the United States. Marjorie is survived by her husband, George; sons, Jim (Pat), Wayne; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Marjorie and George have been devout Christians since accepting Jesus as their Savior in 1947. Marjorie wanted everyone to know that they both gave their hearts to the Lord at the same time. She also wanted to make sure everyone knew George spent 50 years teaching Sunday school. A memorial will be held at Church on the Hill at a later date with private burial at Lone Oak Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 2-4pm in Weddle Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Church on the Hill Missions.
