Marilyn Loraine Kirk

On January 15th, 2019, Marilyn Loraine Kirk passed away peacefully in Sublimity, Oregon. Marilyn was born in Walla Walla, Washington on May 9th, 1935 to Marion and Edmond Clayton. Her family moved to the Wenatchee area in the late 1940’s. Marilyn graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1953. In that same year, she met John Kirk, Jr. of Monitor Washington. Marilyn and John married in 1954 and had four children. Marilyn worked as a bookkeeper for Cascoa Growers in Cashmere, Washington, and as a bookkeeper at several Safeway stores in Oregon and Washington. She played the piano and organ and was the organist at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Wenatchee for several years. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Kirk, Jr., her children, Marcy Kirk, Michele Baker and husband David, Craig Kirk and wife Sherry, Libby McCormick and husband Joe, sister Beth Harrington and husband Rob, 2 nieces, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday January 25th, 1:00 p.m. at Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton Oregon. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Willamette Humane Society in Salem, Oregon.
