Marilyn Rose Jones

Marilyn Rose Jones, a vibrant and compassionate woman who brought love and joy to all who knew her, passed away peacefully in hospice care in Salem, Oregon, on December 30, 2024. Born on September 17, 1949, in Canby, Oregon, to Margaret Terry and Arthur Guild, Marilyn lived a life full of passion, creativity, and service.

After graduating high school, Marilyn embarked on an adventure to San Francisco, California, where she met her former husband and raised two amazing children. Her journey continued with a life rich in experiences, taking her to Boulder, Colorado, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and back to her home state of Oregon, where she was born and raised. Marilyn’s love for travel also brought her often to Costa Rica and St. Thomas, where she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a healthcare professional.

An accomplished esthetician with a flair for artistry, Marilyn also found joy in her passions for gardening, animal welfare, and helping others. She volunteered with animal rescue organizations and provided care and companionship to the elderly, embodying her generous spirit and deep compassion for those around her.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Molly Tain Jones and Cody Christopher Jones, her cherished grandson, Owen Otto McBride, and her beloved siblings, Kathy, Wayne, Norman, and Ellen.

Her dedication to her family, her adventurous and active lifestyle, and her commitment to her community will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Marilyn’s warmth, strength, and love will continue to inspire those who loved her.

A private memorial will be held to honor Marilyn’s memory and celebrate her extraordinary life.
