Margarette was born on March 14, 1935, in Saint Joe, Arkansas to Cleo and Opal. At a young age she moved to Oregon and would marry young. This marriage would bless her with her first born, Joice. After her daughter was born, Margarette would move to California where her other children: Stanley, Lyn, Daniel, Brenda, and Bonnie would be born.She would meet and marry, Vernon E. Edwards and they would marry on December 22, 1967, and the family would move back to Oregon in 1968. The family would first live in Bandon, but later live in Dayton and eventually, Vernon would build the family home in Amity, Oregon. A few years later, Margarette would become a young widow when Vernon would precede her in death in 1975.While Vernon was alive, Margarette was a homemaker but after his passing she began a career outside the home. In her younger years she would work at Salvation Army and would also volunteer at rescues. She would also serve coffee at rest areas and was always very active in help others. Margarette had a generous spirit to always do for others. Eventually, she would begin a career with the Oregon DMV and would retire from that position.Besides work, Margarette loved to watch birds outside and she was an avid reader. She also got a lot of enjoyment from traveling.For the last several years Margarette resided in Sublimity, Oregon at Marian Estates, prior to that she lived in Salem, Sheridan, and McMinnville.On September 18, 2021, Margarette passed away at age 86 in Sublimity, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dolores and Rusty; mother, Opal and a granddaughter, Celesta.She is survived by her children, Joice, Stanley, Lyn, Daniel, Brenda, and Bonnie; brother, Red; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren.
