Margaret E. Maggie Masser April 10, 1922 September 21, 2009 Salem, Oregon Margaret was born on April 10, 1922 in Jamestown, N.D., 7th of 10 children born to Cora and James Buckhout. She came to Oregon when she was 18, met and married John W. Masser at the age of 20 in Shaw, Oreg. where she lived her entire adult life. She and John ran the Shaw General Merchandise store while raising their family of six children and being an active longtime member of the St. Marys Catholic Parish in Shaw. She is survived by one brother, G.E. Buckhout of Calif.; one sister, Cora Jean Threlkel of Salem; five of her six children, Mitzy Logan, Gay Riesterer, Frank Masser, Michael Masser and Karen Bernards; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She died the morning of September 21, 2009 while residing in an Alzheimers care unit at Farmington Sq. in Salem. A viewing of the body is planned from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 24 at Weddles Funeral Home in Stayton, Ore. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 24 at the St. Marys Catholic Church in Shaw, with the funeral mass and service set for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept 25 at the church in Shaw. The family suggests donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimers Association or to the St. Marys Altar Society of Shaw.
