Mae Passarelle was born on May 8, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York to Anna Mandegna and Cosamo Lipari. She attended Brooklyn Industrial High School for Girls and studied dress design and pattern making where she was top of her class. She would meet her husband Ralph Passarelle at a popular New York City dance hall and they would marry on October 7, 1951. Together they raised three children, Dolores, John, and Ralph. Mae’s children gave him 8 grandchildren, Tasha, Ralph Jr, Dolly, Brian, Katie, Laura, Megan, and James, plus 6 great grandchildren. Mae was a shining light, ahead of her time in so many ways, and loved by all. She was sweet, kind, witty, giving, adventurous, determined, fashionable, free spirited, and truly gifted in so many ways. She was an extremely talented seamstress with her own successful business, musically inclined, able to play any tune by ear on the piano, and enjoyed spending her time dancing, sewing, reading, walking, decorating, following celebrity gossip and traveling. She was also always the most glamorous, dressed to the nines for any and all occasions. On January 4, 2022 Mae passed away in Woodburn, Oregon. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Ralph; parents, Anna and Cosamo; and siblings, Mary, Phil, Mike, and Joe. She is survived by her three children, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
