Luella Jean Mosley, a cherished member of her community and beloved family matriarch, passed away on December 3, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on October 29, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, Luella spent her life dedicated to her family, career, and various passions that brought joy to those around her.
Luella's diverse career included several significant roles. She contributed her skills at the Stayton Cannery, served as a manager of the Albany Democrat Herald, managed operations at Circle K, and worked as a clerk at Scio Food Center. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every role she undertook, reflecting her determination and adaptability.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Luella found great fulfillment in her hobbies. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, pen pal writing, and gardening. Activities that not only brought her personal joy but also allowed her to connect with others. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family and into her community, where she engaged with many through her volunteer work.
Among her proudest accomplishments was her long-term involvement with the Special Olympics, a passion she committed to since the 1990s. Luella worked tirelessly alongside her special needs daughter, Jennifer, helping to uplift others and foster an inclusive environment for athletes with disabilities.
Luella is survived by her loving children Jean Brusa, Eva Mosley, Kay Spitzner, Ronald Mosley, Jr., Jennifer Mosley, and Wanda Wade. Her legacy will live on through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Luella is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Simon, as well as her step-daughter, Kimberly Mathas. The impact she made on those who knew her will be felt for generations to come. Luella Jean Mosley will always be remembered for her kindness, love, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.
