Luciano Reyes

December 13, 1928 — July 11, 2023

Luciano Reyes, a loving, gentle, and faith-filled man, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023, in Stayton, Oregon. Born on December 13, 1928, in Alamo, Texas, to Severiano Reyes and Conception Mascias, Luciano lived a life full of love, devotion, and unwavering faith.

In his early years, Luciano attended high school before finding his calling to join the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he began a long career in the farming industry. His dedication and work ethic were evident in everything he did, and his love for the land and the fruits of his labor were a testament to his character. Despite the long hours and hard work, Luciano always maintained a positive outlook, a trait that would stay with him throughout his life.

Luciano married the love of his life, Emma Nino, and together they were blessed with a large, loving family. Their children, Catalina, Isabele, Oralia, Alma, Hortencia, Rene, Raul, Zinnia, Roel, and Susanna, filled their home with laughter, love, and the occasional chaos that comes with a large family. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he was proud of each of his children and the lives they built.

In 1964, Luciano moved his family to Stayton, Oregon, where he became a long-time parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church. His faith was a cornerstone in his life, and he instilled that same devotion in his children.

Luciano had a love for the simple pleasures in life. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing pool and was a keen baseball player and avid fan. His favorite team was the Mariners, and he never missed a game. When not watching baseball, he enjoyed watching westerns, with John Wayne being one of his favorites.

Luciano's life was marked by his gentle nature, his love for his family, and his unwavering faith. He was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and lived his life with integrity and grace. His memory will be cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His influence will continue to live on in the lives of his children, and his legacy of love, faith, and devotion will forever be remembered.
