Lorette Kay Severson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Turner, Oregon on July 9, 2023. Born on October 6, 1961, in Salem, Oregon, Lorette lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, touching the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and enduring spirit.


Lorette was a proud graduate of North Salem High School, Class of 1979. Later in life, she channeled her innate ability to communicate and empathize with others into a successful career as a self-employed insurance agent working with her husband Ronald. Her professional life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her clients and a knack for making even the most complex policies seem straightforward.


Lorette met her loving husband, Ronald Severson, while working in the floral industry. Their shared passion for life and love for each other was evident in their enduring partnership. Together, they raised a beautiful blended family, including their children, Cuyler, Quinlan, Riley, Aaron, Summer, Emery, and Lindsey. Lorette treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as "Grandma" to Emily, Mia, Evie, Lucy, and Sadie.


In addition to her immediate family, Lorette is survived by her siblings, Lance and Les McIlnay. The bond between them was unbreakable, and they were not just siblings, but dear friends who shared a lifetime of memories.


Beyond her professional and family life, Lorette had a passion for the outdoors and the natural world. She loved horses and was the proud owner of her horses, Honey and Bunny. Her yard was her sanctuary, and she spent countless hours tending to it, creating a beautiful oasis that reflected her love for nature. Lorette had a soft spot for Scotty dogs, owls, and hummingbirds, often incorporating these creatures into her artwork. She was a talented artist, and her creativity shone through in the pieces she created.


Lorette's love for life was infectious, and she had a knack for making those around her feel special. She was a beacon of positivity, always ready with a kind word or a comforting shoulder. She lived her life with a grace and strength that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.


Lorette Kay Severson was a remarkable woman whose spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will forever be a testament to the extraordinary life she led. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
