Lorena M. Baker December 16, 1933 July 17, 2010 Salem, OR Lorena was born in Cluny, Alberta, Canada. She was the sixth oldest of fourteen children to George and Kathryn Fox ( 4 girls and 10 boys) in addition to 2 older half brothers and3 older half sisters. Lorena lived in Alberta, Canada until she was 20 years old and then moved to Glendale, California where she got a job at the Voice of Prophecy. She later met and married Lawrence Ashlyn in 1955. They moved to Salem, Oregon and raised their family of four girls; Sharon, Lorrie, Darlene and Daphne. Lorena worked in nursing homes as an aid. After 22 years of marriage the couple divorced and Lorena moved to Lodi, California in August of 1977. She worked at the Lodi Community Hospital. She later met Virgil Baker and they married on January 1, 1981. They moved to Placerville, California and later to Turner, Oregon. Virgil passed away in 1997 after 15 years of marriage. A diagnosis of Alzheimers placed her in the care of Tierra Rose Care Center where she passed away. She is survived by her daughters; Sharon (Jim) McMurtry, Lorrie (Bruce) Royle, Daphne Ashlyn, and grandson, Beau (Kelly) Weaver. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene in August, 2001 in addition to 4 brothers and all half brothers and sisters. Visitation will be Friday, July 30, 2010 from 9 to 5 at Weddle Funeral Chapel, Stayton. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 31, 2010 , 2:00 p.m. at the Salem Central Seventh Day Adventist Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
