Lois Elaine Bryant (Baker) was born on April 30, 1949, in North Bend, Oregon to Victor and Marilyn (Hills) Baker. She grew up in the Coos Bay area where she attended Marshfield high school. She would also meet her husband, Michael H. Bryant in Coos Bay, where they fell in love. They would later elope to California, marrying on August 15, 1967. Shortly after, Mike would get drafted and served two years abroad. Upon coming home for leave, he met his baby daughter, Angela, at only 3 days old. They would later be blessed with a son, Michael.
Lois and Mike would settle in Idanha, Oregon in 1971, they loved the community and he would take up work in the logging camps while Lois would work in the local restaurants. Lois would work at Marion Forks, My Village Store & Café, and the Korner Post in Detroit. She was also a volunteer EMT who would work with the fire department. Lois would also volunteer at City Hall and the local Charter School.
She had a big heart for dogs and children, she even bought a minivan so she could shuttle her children and their friends to sporting events. Lois was probably most happy when her home was filled with her children and their friends. In fact, over the years many children became her grandchildren, they were automatically included in her life and she loved every single one of them.
Lois had many talents such as crocheting, and making jewelry and always could find something crafty to do. She was the person who ran the home, kept the kids in check, and just about everyone else. Lois had many adventures over the years from traveling with her husband, Mike, to taking an Alaskan cruise with her daughter Angela.
Over the years, Lois suffered from several heart attacks and strokes, but her determination and resiliency to live was unlike any other. She was a take-charge type of person but equally just as kind, and compassionate and would do anything to see a child smile.
On March 23, 2023 at age 73, Lois passed away in Stayton, Oregon. She is survived by her husband Michael H. Bryant; children, Angela and Michael; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; lots of extended grandchildren, family, and friends.
