Linda Hubbard was born on June 24, 1946, in Santa Rosa, California to Manuel & Lena Lopez. She graduated from Brookings-Harbor High School in the class of 1964. In 1967, Linda would meet and marry Jimmy Poston and soon after she would begin her favorite role as mother to Paula, Angela and Robert. Linda was an amazing mother and opened her home to many of her children’s friends.
Soon after welcoming her first child, Paula, Linda would find her passion for styling hair. She would attend Cosmetology school which would lead to her life long career as a Cosmetologist. Her passion for her work and her gift of gab would create many lifelong friendships.
In 1999, Linda would meet Gary Hubbard who quickly became the love of her life. Linda and Gary were married in 2006 and she would begin her role as stepmom to Kimberley, Charmin and Brandon and Grandmother to Finley, Brock and Rowdy. Linda and Gary were inseparable as they served as President and Vice President of the Forest Grove City Club. Together they built 2 beauty salons, a 50’s Ice Cream parlor and operated 2 movie theaters. In 2009 Linda and Gary would move to La Grande, Oregon where Gary went back into the RV industry. Gary would travel extensively across the country with Linda always by his side, Linda loved to travel with Gary and see the country.
Linda’s outgoing personality led her to become a Barbizon model in the late 80’s and participate in several pageants. In the early 1990’s she was crowned Mrs. Lane County which led her to compete in the Mrs. Oregon pageant where she would be crowned Mrs. Congeniality, Mrs. Hospitality and was a runner up to Mrs. Oregon. She would later judge the Miss Barbizon pageant and the Azalea Festival which led her to become the executive director for the Rhododendron Festival. Linda would also Co-found the Florence chapter of the Toastmasters International and was the founder and Director of Florence So optimist International.
Linda loved to stay busy, and she had an incredible sense of humor. She loved to dance and spend time with her family. Even after moving from the coast, she would love to go back and just watch the ocean for hours.
After a several year battle with Dementia, Linda passed away on February 22, 2023 at her home in Albany, Oregon. Her loving husband and best friend Gary was at her side... Linda was 76 years old.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother Lena, her father Manuel. Her brothers Manual Jr. and David Henry; her daughter Paula Meyer and granddaughter Sierra Meyer.
She is survived by her husband Gary Hubbard, daughter Angela Hunt and her husband Michael and son Robert Poston. Her step children Kimberley Taylor, Charmin Achenbrener and her husband Ed and Brandon Hubbard and his wife Rayne. Sisters Margo Hanscam, Diane McVicker, Cathy Roman and Lori Carillo. Brothers, David Lopez and Thomas Lopez.
Linda had 12 grandchildren, Jared Meyer, Justin Meyer. Teagan Calhoon, James Hunt, Nicolas Hunt, Dylan Hunt. Alexxis Poston, Bryce Poston, Finley and Brock Aschenbrener and Rowdy Hubbard
She also had 7 great grandchildren, Kaden Crocker, Jayden & Jaxen Calhoon, Julianna Hunt and Oliva Meyer.
