Leroy Rolland Dalke

LEROY ROLLAND DALKE May 2, 1930 – Oct. 20, 2010 Aumsville, Oregon Resident  AUMSVILLE-  Dad lost a hard-fought, long battle with colon cancer and passed away with dignity and peace at OHSU in Portland.  Son of Theodore and Katie (Becker) Dalke,  He grew up in the Aumsville area.  He married Dorothy Marie Gilbert on Sept. 16, 1950.  They were married for 57 years before she preceded him in death in 2007.  He farmed the family farm with his father-in-law, Ed Gilbert and brother-in-law, Harold Gilbert for 50 years and then with his son, David and grandson, Darin.  He was active in the foundation establishing Regis High School, Regis Foundation, Regis Athletic Association, Santiam Water Control District, Norpac Foods member.  We will always remember his smiling eyes, quick wit and his love for his family.  He rarely complained and lived his life to the fullest.  He enjoyed being with family and trips to the casino. He is survived by his 5 children, Doug, Dan, David (Tanya), Denise (Donald) Betker,  and Danell (Marty) Butler; 13 grandchildren: Trina (John ) Lopez, Jamie (Mindy) Dalke, Katie (Erik) Lawrence, Kaila Dalke, Kryssi  Dalke, Kristi Smith, Darin (Alyssa) Dalke, Kimberly (Jaron) Nygren, Nathan (Katie) Betker, Jacob (Sara) Butler, Jessi (Myles) Bryan, Jacki and Jenni Butler; 6 great grandchildren: Teegen, Bryson, Ian, Hunter, Jayden & Brooklyn,  brothers & sisters: Laura Garbe, Dorothy (Mel)Nichol, Floss Comstock, Luella Rosenbalm, Dalbert (Pat) Dalke, Eldon (Rose) Dalke, Irwin (Sharon) Dalke, Bonnie (Neil) Boyd; many nieces & nephews & friends.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell (Velma). Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic  Church, Stayton. Celebration of Mass in his honor will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 26th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Stayton, followed by a reception at Anthony Hall in Sublimity. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (In Honor of Great Grandson, Bryson) 6931 Arlington Rd., 2nd Floor, Bethesda, Maryland or Regis High School Athletic Assoc.
