Leona Elizabeth Kremer (Bentz)

Leona Elizabeth Kremer (Bentz) March 27, 1921 October 13, 2010 Lyons, Oregon Leona Elizabeth Kremer, 89, was born March 27, 1921 to John P. and May W. Bentz in Shaw, OR.  She lived her early years in Sublimity and married Sylvester Jacob Lucky Kremer in 1940.  Leona was a wife for 55 years, a loving mother of seven children.  She was known as an excellent cook and a professional seamstress.  She enjoyed all kinds of hand work and made beautiful quilts for many children and grandchildren and one each year for her church bazaar.  She loved to paint, dance, play cards, and travel.  Leona and Lucky retired to Lyons, OR in 1985  to be close to family and friends where they grew up.  Leona is survived by sons; Darwin and JoAnn Kremer, Steve and Anne Kremer both of Los Molinos, CA, Douglas and Megan Kremer of Arvada, CO, Gregory and Kate Kremer of Rochester, NY; daughters; Arlene and Jose Jimenez of Hermiston, OR, Connie and Fred Schneider of Montrose, CO, and Karen Smith of Salem, OR;  brother Ken Bentz of Drewsey, OR and sister, Claudia Cunningham of Silverton, OR, by 29 grand children, and 31 great grandchildren.  Leona was preceded in death by husband of 55 years, (Lucky), parents John and May Bentz, sisters Marie Bindel, and Delores Cremer, brothers, Ronald Bentz and Bernard Bentz. Vigil will be Sunday, October 17, 2010 7:00 p.m. at Weddle Funeral Chapel with Funeral Mass on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity, OR.
