Leola Irene Delker April 1, 1923 June 19, 2017 Leola Irene Delker, 94, of Gates, passed away on Monday June 19, 2017 in Salem, Oregon. Leola was born on April 1, 1923 to Christina Rathgen and Daniel Adolf in Hazen, North Dakota. In the late 30s she moved to Oregon. On October 14, 1940, she married the love of her life Edwin Delker in Vancouver, Washington. During the war Leola stayed at home and kept the home fire burning. Afterwards the couple moved to Idanha and eventually settled in Gates. During the 66 years of their marriage Leola and Edwin welcomed two children into their home. Leola will be remembered as a kind mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply. Leola spent her life working as a homemaker and was very proud of her accomplishments. She was a hard-working woman who loved quilting, gardening, and burning up firewood! She was an active charter member of the Santiam Quilters. Leola was also a 50-year dedicated member of the Eastern Stars. Leola is survived by her son Ron (Carolyn) Delker, and grandchildren David Adams and Dr. Dianne Henson. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin Delker; daughter Darlene Adams-Hunker; parents Daniel and Christina Adolf; and brothers Harold and Ed Adolf. A graveside service is scheduled at 11:30am on Friday June 30, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery in Gates, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fairview Cemetery.
