Lehman “Lee” Lamb Sept. 9, 1929 – Feb. 20, 2011 Lee Lamb was born at Dawson Springs, Kentucky on the 9th day of Sept. 1929. He passed away on Sunday the 20th at Salem. He was 81. The son of Preston and Gertrude Lamb. He had 3 brothers, William Wallace, Clyde and John. John is the only living brother. When he was four he moved to Colorado because his father had TB which caused his death a short time later. His mother remarried a couple of years later to Albert Spencer. Albert was an iron worker and they moved frequently due to his work. They moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1940 where Lee attended grade and high school. Lee was married to Patricia Porter in 1948 and they had four children, Cindy, Sandy, John and Terry. They divorced in 1959. In 1960 he moved to LA and married Barbara Bohlander, who had three boys, Tom, Brent and Jay. In 1961, they had a son, Michael. Lee later adopted Brent and Jay in 1964. They moved to Phoenix where he worked for Kimball Wholesale for 7 yrs. Kimball sold out in 1971 and he worked for Copeland Wholesale for one year before being asked to take the territory for Endicott Johnson Shoe Company for a year. From 1972 to 1980 he worked for Endicott Johnson and Genesco covering the AZ/CA territories selling shoes to retail outlets. In 1981 he formed a company called United Importers, Inc. and traveled to Italy and Korea buying shoes and selling them upon his return to the US. After his 1st shipment, Pres. Ford put a quota on the amount of leather shoes being shipped into the US and forced him out of business. After returning my investors money I went back to AZ to live in the cabin we had built in 1965 in Williams, AZ and I worked for the school district and a lumberyard. In 1983 we moved to CA where I worked for Mutual of Omaha selling Insurance. We moved back to Oregon in 1984 where he worked 16 yrs for Wall Insurance in Dallas, OR. He retired in 2000. His daughter, Sandy, came to AZ where she lived in the cabin for a year. Later she was killed in and her burial was in Williams, AZ. He will be buried beside her. He was joined in marriage to Grayce Higgins on Oct. 8, 2006. Together they had many happy years together traveling to California, Arizona, Germany, Paris, France. Memorials may be made to the Willamette Humane Society, 4246 Turner Rd. SE Salem, OR 97317 Memorial service will be Sun. Feb. 27th at 2:00 pm at United Methodist Church in Woodburn, OR. Interment will be at Williams City Cemetery, Williams, AZ Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
