Lorie Lynn Scarlett-Knaust, a devoted homemaker and a cherished soul in the hearts of many, departed this world on November 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy woven with love for family and a profound passion for animals. Born on March 19, 1980, Lorie illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. From her earliest days, Lorie dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, a testament to her innate compassion and relentless love for all living creatures. She thrived in the embrace of farm life, finding joy in caring for animals as much as she did in nurturing her family. Her unwavering dedication to those she loved was evident in the way she devoted her days to her husband, Mark Knaust, and her four beloved sons—Travis Tucker, Trevor Tucker, Anthony Hurner, and Mark Knaust II. Each moment spent with them was a celebration of life and an opportunity to instill in them the same fondness for creatures great and small that had captured her heart.
Lorie's mother, Lorene DeBauch, and her siblings shared in her laughter and love, forming a tight-knit family bonded by cherished memories and mutual respect. Together, they weathered life’s storms, celebrated its blessings, and cultivated a radiant garden of affection filled with the cries of playful children and the soft coos of nurtured pets.
Although her grandmother, Erma Trent, has passed on, Lorie's spirit shines brightly through the stories that echo in her family's gatherings, a reminder of a life lived fully and authentically.
Visitation will be held in her honor at Weddle Funeral Service in Stayton, Oregon, on December 3, 2024. Friends and family are invited to gather from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM as they pay tribute to an extraordinary woman who was so much more than merely a caregiver; she was a beacon of kindness and a testament to the transformative power of love.
Lorie Lynn Scarlett-Knaust may have departed, but her essence—wrapped in the warmth of her caring spirit and gentle heart—will forever remain alive in the lives she touched, serving as an enduring inspiration to care for one another and the world around us.
