Ladena Fay Bochsler

Ladena Fay Bochsler was born on June 23rd, 1960 in Walla Walla, Washington. Her parents Linus and Vivian Anderson raised her and her siblings in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. After leaving Milton-Freewater she found work at Eastern Oregon Training Center in Pendleton, Oregon. She worked there until she was offered a position at Fairview Training Center in Salem, Oregon. This move would be a big change for Ladena and not just with the climate, but professionally and personally. At Fairview she would meet fellow colleague, Stephen Bochsler. The two hit it off and became very good friends. Like all wonderful marriages, theirs was built on friendship first and a few years later the two would be married on October 11th, 1998 in Reno, Nevada. Besides having a wonderful career and loving husband, Ladena was blessed with the gift of a child. They welcomed into the world a daughter, Elizabeth. Ladena loved her daughter and she would remark that becoming a mother was the best contributions she ever made in the world. In 1997 Ladena changed jobs and began a career at Marion Estates as a CNA, where she had the joy and responsibility to care for the elderly. Many wonderful relationships were established during her time working there and due to health issues, Ladena retired in 2004. Ladena’s free time was spent being close to her daughter. She would often volunteer at her school or help with all of her activities. As a family, Stephen, Ladena and Elizabeth would travel; often just getting in the car and seeing where they ended up. A lot of times these were trips to the beach or a favorite casino to try her luck. Ladena was very strong in her faith which she gave her much strength throughout the years. She loved the gospel and was a proud, longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aumsville, Oregon. Her Pastor described her having an almost childlike appreciation for the gospel and faith. LaDena was faithful in prayer for 12 years at the local Moms In Prayer meetings at her church. Today, Ladena is with Jesus and the Angels that she loved. Ladena passed away unexpectedly on November 4th, 2018 at her home in Aumsville, Oregon. She was proceeded in death by her parents Linus and Vivian and her brother Gary. She is survived by her loving husband Steve; Daughter Elizabeth; Sisters Jolene and Chris and her brother Jamie. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 10th at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Aumsville, Oregon.
