Kyle (KJ) James Greenwood, born on June 10, 1991, in Albany, Oregon, to Patricia (McGowan) Greenwood and Steven Greenwood, passed away on April 8, 2024. He was raised in Mill City, Oregon, and graduated from Santiam High School in 2009. After school, he proudly served in the Marine Corps, deploying to Afghanistan. Following his military service, he worked in Private Contracting Security.
Kyle had a passion for sports. Growing up he excelled at baseball and played in the 2A/3A All Star Game his senior year of high school. Football was a pastime, which included watching it habitually on tv, attending games, and hours of conversation revolving around the sport. His favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers and the USC Trojans. He loved to travel; friends and family thoroughly enjoyed hearing of his adventures. Kyle maintained an active lifestyle, enjoying fitness activities. Additionally, he was a cigar and bourbon enthusiast and relished barbecue food. He was a free spirit that captivated everyone with his infectious smile and sarcastic sense of humor.
Family meant everything to Kyle, and it was his role as a father that he cherished above all. He is survived by his daughter Mila Ann Greenwood, siblings Megan Childress (Tyson), Nicole Wanner (Zach), and Clinton Greenwood, along with five nephews and three nieces. Sadly, Kyle only had a few years to enjoy with Mila, but his devotion as a father was his greatest accomplishment. His time spent with her was his most treasured. Kyle was predeceased by his parents, Patricia and Steve.
