Kevin T. Monks Sr.

KEVIN  THOMAS  MONKS SR. Dec. 27, 1955 – Feb. 28, 2011 Salem, Oregon Kevin Monks was born at Lynn, Massachusetts on the 27th day of December, 1955.  He passed away at his home in Salem on Monday, February 28th.  He was 55.  The son of Joseph and Barbara Monks. Kevin attended high school  in Lynn as well as Lynn technical school, having graduated from the plumbing program.  He served his apprenticeship , then became a journeyman plumber.  He worked for General Electric as a pipefitter.  He then served in the Navy. He became a self employed painter.  He was a member of the Catholic Church and was married to Kassandra Murphy on Sept. 22, 1997 in Sanford, Florida  and they made their home in Florida before moving to North Carolina and to Salem, OR in 2008.  He was a  member of the Salem A.A. and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Lilianna, especially teaching her how to ride her tricycle. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kassandra of Salem; daughter, Kimberly of Massachusetts; son, Kevin Jr. (Amy) of Massachusetts; mother, Barbara Monks of Massachusetts; step-daughter, Joanna Gadomski of Bend, OR; sister, Diane Bryson and brother, James Monks both of Lynn, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Conner, Nathan & Lilianna; nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering  (Barbeque)  held at 3860 Lancaster Dr. NE Salem on Sun. March 13th at 1:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
