Kenneth Byron Kimsey

Obituary Kenneth Byron Kimsey was born on January 23, 1936 in Salem, Oregon to Byron Edson and Barbara Jane(Godwin) Kimsey. He attended and graduated high school in Silverton and met his wife, Shirley Ann Wyatt , they married on April 19,1954. After marriage, Kenneth’s career in the United States Navy took them to being stationed in Hawaii, San Diego, San Francisco, North Carolina and South Carolina. After he retired from the Navy, he moved his family back to Oregon where they purchased a small dairy farm in Silverton on Scio Road. They owned their dairy for 7 years raising cows and horses, later selling the property and moving back to Salem. Kenneth ended up having additional careers with Bonneville Power, Social Security Administration and later D & H Flagging where he retired in 2004 after suffering a stroke. Throughout his life, Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing and square dancing. Kenneth passed away at age 83 on March 17, 2019 in Salem, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann and daughter Laurie Ann in 2009; siblings Laura Elizabeth and Archie Duane. He is survived by his children, Sherry Lou, Kenneth Bryon, Jerry Lee; sister, Ella Marie; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
