Kathleen Marie Keeler

Kathleen was born on November 8, 1958 in Newport, Oregon to Sally Johnson and Louis Wimer. At the age of two her father passed away and she was raised by James Johnson. Kathleen would grow up in Marion, Oregon, she attended Cascade High School. While at Cascade, Kathleen would participate in track and cross country. In 1976, Kathleen graduated from Cascade and in 1988 would settle in Scio, Oregon. Eventually she would go to Linn Benton Community College and graduated with a degree in associate of applied science administrative assistant in 2003. Kathleen married O. Greg Peevy on April 28, 1979 at Pearl Harbor; they would later divorce but were blessed with children, Greg and Shelly. As a mom, Kathleen would attend all of their sports and school events. They would go boating at Detroit Lake or Green Peter, enjoying the outdoors and family time. Besides spending time with family, Kathleen worked for Weyerhaeuser /Trusjoist from the early 90's to 2010, until she found her most recent position working for the State of Oregon. What was even more special about that job was she got to work with her daughter. When not at work, Kathleen enjoyed camping at the Oregon Coast and riding ATV's. Kathleen liked to keep busy and also enjoyed golfing and gardening. Most recently she began making jewelry and focused her efforts on beaded earrings. Throughout her entire life Kathleen was known for being independent and very much a "do-it- yourselfer". Whether it came to chopping wood, building her own fence or taking care of her animals she could do it all herself. She loved her two Chihuahuas and her two goats very much.  One of the things Kathleen enjoyed the most was becoming a grandmother. She spoiled her grandkids and loved them all so much, family was always number #1 to her. On July 29, 2019 at the age of 60, Kathleen passed away in Salem, Oregon joining her Lord and Savior. In the last few years, she had discovered her faith and found a deeper relationship with God while attending Jesus My Jubilee. Kathleen was predeceased by her mother, Sally and biological father, Louis. She is survived by her children, Gregory D. Peevy and Shelly R. (Deano) Skelton; father, James L. Johnson; brothers, Jerry Wimer and Michael Wimer; sister Laurel Price; grandchildren, Emily Kuper-Peevy, Justin Skelton, Brandon Skelton, Brittany Jensen, Arianna Skelton; great grandchildren, Waylen Jensen and Nicholas Skelton
