Kathleen Jeanne Krabbe

Kathleen Jeanne Krabbe was born on March 9th, 1945 in Longview, Washington to Kenneth Hout and Rita Lavonne (Bonnie) Corum. Her family moved several times before finally settling in Medford, Oregon in 1948. Kathy attended St Mary’s Catholic School from first grade through graduation in 1963. In high school she was a cheerleader and her senior year was named homecoming queen. After High School, Kathy attended Southern Oregon College and received a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences in 1968. While at SOC she met Jeffery Wayne Baker and they were married in 1968. They had two children; Trace Daniel was born in 1971 in Ashland, Oregon and Kelsi Lynn was born in 1976 in Redding, California. Kathy and Jeff moved to Albany, Oregon in 1977. They were divorced in 1986. In 1995 Kathy met Rick Krabbe and they married a year later in Corvallis, Oregon. Kathy and Rick would go on many adventures together including birding, camping, white water rafting and, their most favorite activity, watching their granddaughter Jordan grow. Professionally, Kathy began her career in Albany as a Citizens Valley bank teller. In 1985 she was hired as a land use planner for Linn County where she completed a 25 year career and retired in 2009. Kathy was incredibly kind and a sweet natured person. No one was considered a stranger to her and an unfamiliar face just meant a new friend to be made. From grade school through her entire working career she made friends that lasted the rest of her life. Kathy loved the holidays, especially Christmas, she had many decorations that she would proudly display for all to see. The most memorable being her Santa ornaments which she had enough of to fill multiple trees. Surrounded by those close to her, Kathy took her last breath on earth and her first in Heaven on November 29th, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Bonnie. She is survived by her loving husband Rick; children, Kelsi and Trace; Sister, Judy; Brother, Roger; her four grandchildren, Jordan, Natalie, Caitlin and Sarah and the many friends and acquaintances made during her 73 years. Mass of Christian Burial will take place January 18, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albany, Oregon. A private inurnment will take place at Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford, Oregon.
