Kathleen Ann Kilmartin

Kathleen Ann Kilmartin was born December 1, 1947, in Bremerton, Washington, to Ed and Jean Monninger. She grew up in the Bremerton area, graduating from Port Angeles High School in 1966. After graduating, Kathy relocated to Oregon, and resided in the Salem Area. On July 4, 1977, she moved to Moorpark, California, and fell in love with Patrick Lee Kilmartin. The two were married February 18, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada and together they had three children. They remained in California until 1992, when they moved to the Salem area, to be closure to her family, and where they would remain for the rest of their lives.  Kathy loved being a wife and mother, and devoted her time to being a homemaker, and taking spontaneous trips, with Pat. She loved Christmas and her house was always decorated with the traditional family decorations; as well as, her favorite Nightmare Before Christmas treasures, some left out intentionally, to be seen throughout the year. The holidays were a time where Kathy could show her love, by ensuring everyone, that she knew received a gift. She was the kind of person that cherished her family and friends, and always made a point to keep in touch, often just a simple card sent in the mail with an expression of her love and to let them know how she was doing.  An avid animal lover, Kathy would often stop and talk to any dog that would listen. It didn’t matter if the dog was in the car, or simply being walked down the street, she would make sure the dog had her full attention and love. Kathy was a member of the Moorpark Jaycees and supported the Humane Society.  On September 18, 2021, Kathy passed away, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Kathy will most definitely be missed by those that loved her, but the memories she leaves behind ensure she will never be forgotten. She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick Kilmartin, parents Ed and Jean Monninger, and siblings Diana Peterson and Cynthia Stockburger. Kathy is survived by her children Tim (Shonda) Kilmartin, Julie (Leland) Kilmartin, and Sharlene (Johnny) Wilson; grandchildren Margarita (Iain), Timothy, Destiny, Brayden, Brody, Jewel, Christopher, Madalyn, Chevy, Anthony, Britny, Loralei, and Johnny III, and siblings Pat Monninger and Laurie (Keith) Anundi.
