Karen Michele Metzler

Lebanon- Karen Michele (Bolt) Metzler passed away on November 5, 2021 in Corvallis, Oregon at the age of 78. She was born on April 10, 1943, in Melrose Park, Illinois, to Rachael Patricia Brown and Frank Willard Bolt. Karen is survived by her children Star Dotson and Jason Spilker.  She was preceded in death by her parents and eldest son, John Dotson. Besides her children, Karen is survived by her two brothers, David and Dennis Bolt, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Karen was happiest when surrounded by stacks of books.  When she wasn’t engrossed in another novel, she was exploring the west coast with her daughter, Star.  She was truly an adventurer at heart. Karen’s ashes will be spread at sea near Depoe Bay in honor of her love of the Oregon Coast. She will be greatly missed.
