Karen Lovatt September 5, 1954 ~ March 23, 2010 Karen Sue Walko was born on September 5, 1954 in Bluffton, Indiana to Harry and Marguerite Walko. Her father was a veterinarian and she grew up around many different kinds of animals. She carried her love of animals with her throughout life. She graduated from Bluffton high school and went on to attend Ball State and Indiana University. She then transferred to Oregon State University, where she met her husband Bob, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. After graduating, she taught business at North Bend high school before taking time off to be a full time mother. After her children grew older, she took the position of special education teacher at Mark Twain middle school. She cared deeply about the children she taught and took pride in her job. She loved the Mark Twain family very much. She married Bob Lovatt on October 31, 1981 in Silverton, Oregon. They had three beautiful children, Joe, Jake, and Emily. She was a very kind and understanding person which allowed her kids to be very honest with her. She always knew exactly who her kids were and never forced her kids to be anything that they did not want to be. She is survived by her husband Bob, kids Joe, Jake, and Emily, and her sister Linda Meisner. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
