Juanita E. Brown August 22, 1920 January 9, 2016 Aumsville, Oregon Juanita Elsie Brown was born on August 22, 1920 to Don and Elizabeth Corbitt in Aberdeen, Washington. She was the eleventh of thirteen children. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1938. She worked as a welder in the Portland Shipyards during the war where she met her husband, Roy C. Brown Sr. They married on August 5, 1944 in Portland where they lived and raised their son Roy Jr. until they moved to Idanha where their daughter Gloria joined them. They returned to Portland until 1953 when Roy built their house in Lyons. They also lived in a mobile home until Roys death in 1986. Juanita worked for Stayton Canning for 27 years while she and Roy raised their two children. After her husbands death, she moved to Aumsville to live near her daughter Gloria and son-in-law Rick. She lived there 29 years. Juanita enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting, and the many cats, dogs, and birds she cared for. Juanita is survived by her son Roy Jr. and daughter Gloria (Rick) Weitman. Grandchildren; Kim Doan and Robert Brown, Shelly (John) Brosnan, Sean (Britta) Weitman and Brian (Janalee) Weitman. Twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Stayton Fire Department. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Aumsville. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services.
