Joseph Patrick Michael Coyle, born on October 16, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Clifford Charles Coyle and Marjorie Claire Haller, went home to heaven on January 12, 2025, in Aumsville, Oregon.

Joseph led a remarkable life filled with diverse experiences. He spent many years in Long Beach, California, before moving to Salem, Oregon, in 1978 and finally settled in Aumsville, Oregon, in 1995. His career journey included working for Boeing Aircraft, Mead Packaging, and serving as a direct care support staff member before he retired.

In 1999, Joseph became a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he was very active, giving back to his community and sharing hope with others. He had a passion for life and was an extraordinary storyteller, always finding joy in singing. Excitement and enthusiasm marked his participation in the Senior Golf Tour for a year. Joseph also enjoyed camping, traveling, people-watching, and eating peanuts at a Volcanoe’s Game. A good steak was always a delight for him.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, and his children: Lisa Coyle, Joe Coyle Jr., Jerry Coyle, and Toni Belt (Dan). He also leaves behind his step-sons, David and Bud Hartman, and his beloved grandchildren: Matthew Mower, Justin Belt, Ryan Belt, Jeremy Coyle, Josh Coyle, and Austin Cornell. Joseph's sister, Barbara Jean Isdahl, survives him as well.

He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Catherine Damé, his brother, Fredrick Charles Thomas Coyle, and his son, Frank Cornell.

Joseph’s legacy of kindness, faith, and love for storytelling and music will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. A memorial service will take place at Bethel Baptist Church on February 8, 2025 at 2 PM with a reception to follow.
